How I'd describe myself

Like Ripley from ALIEN. Strategic, logical, empathetic, supportive, passionate, bad-ass when I need to be, prepared, forward-looking, reflective and justice-seeking.

Why I became a mentor

There were very few women in leadership when I was coming up the ranks. I had lots of great male mentors but believe navigating the business world as a woman is more complicated. Add in that I am of mixed race and it gets even more complex. So, I am here to help other women and minorities become more successful by helping build soft and hard skills needed.

An ideal relationship to Tracy

As a mentor, having a mentoree that is curious, responsive, takes honest feedback as constructive, and proactive. In return I will offer support, coaching, empathy, knowledge, outside the box thinking, and enthusiasm for your success. It could be a monthly chat or quarterly. But it would be up to the mentoree to set the pace, agenda and follow up.

How would your friends describe you?

Justice seeker, passionate, empathetic, intense, funny, entertaining, caring, generous, intelligent, connects to people quickly, open, too honest, and can connect disparate pieces of information to make sense.

What has shaped you the most in your life?

Experiences

What are some exciting things you've done?

Galapagos, Machu Picchu, Hong Kong (pre-China), Bali, Spain, and more. Travel and exposure to other cultures is very exciting to me. Starting my own business was exciting (and stressful).

How would your friends describe you?

Justice seeker, passionate, empathetic, intense, funny, entertaining, caring, generous, intelligent, connects to people quickly, open, too honest, and can connect disparate pieces of information to make sense.

If money wasn't an issue, what would you be doing right now?

Travel, volunteering where I travel, starting a non-profit, and more mentoring.

What book has left the great impact on your life, and why?

The Great Gatsby. It shows the injustices of a caste system which can apply to any marginalized group. That greed and self-preservation are frequently at the expense of others less fortunate.

Who would you like to have dinner with?

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Snoop Dogg, Jacinda Arden, Quincy Jones, Bruce Lee, David Ogilvy, Ada Lovelace, Lawrence Hill, Ayn Rand, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Socrates, Viola Davis, Sandra Oh, Kendrick Lamar and Ke Huy Quan.

Where would you like to visit?

Cambodia, Sicily, Fiji, Morocco, Turkey, Rwanda, South Africa, Italy, Austria

How do you want to be remembered?

As someone who cared about others.
